Bushra Bibi moves LHC for detail of cases against her
LAHORE: The Lahore High Court on Tuesday issued notices to the federal and the provincial governments on a petition of Imran Khan’s wife Bushra Bibi seeking details of all cases registered against her.
Advocate Intizar Hussain Panjotha appeared before the court and argued on behalf of the petitioner that every citizen had a right to fair trial. He said there were reports that police and other bodies working under the domain of the federal and Punjab governments registered cases against the petitioner and sealed them.
He said the petitioner had not been provided with any information about the cases registered against her and there were apprehensions of her sudden arrest in any of the undisclosed cases.
The counsel asked the court to issue a restraining order against the arrest of the petitioner in any disclosed or undisclosed case.
Justice Amjad Rafiq observed that how could a restraining order be passed without the availability of any FIR.
The judge issued notices to the respondents for submission of their replies by June 7 (today).
