113 get degrees at first convocation of Salim Habib University
KARACHI: Some 113 students graduated from the Salim Habib University, which held its first convocation for the years 2021 and 2022 here.
Degrees were awarded in Doctor of Pharmacy, BS Computer Science, BBA, MBA, BS Accounting and Finance, BE Biomedical Engineering, and BS Bio Sciences.
Among the graduating students 14 high achievers received gold medals while 12 were awarded silver medals. The successful graduates expressed their joy of witnessing their hard work paying off, and of now being a member of the alumni network of their university.
The ceremony was conducted by the Registrar of the University, Prof Dr Kaleem Raza Khan, who also led the academic procession.
Chancellor Dr Iram Afaq expressed her happiness and pride at seeing her students graduate. She spoke about their academic achievements and encouraged them to dream big and follow their passions. “Nothing is impossible through hard work and perseverance,” she said.
Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Shakeel Ahmed Khan walked thee audience through the university’s history.
Vice Chancellor, LUMS, Prof Dr Arshad Ahmad delivered an inspiring keynote address.
Minister for Universities and Boards Department, Muhammad Ismail Rahoo, lauded the graduates for their achievements and urged them to continue to seek knowledge, as education is the only way to a better tomorrow for all.
Former captain of the Pakistan cricket team Shahid Afridi was also present.
