PTI’s Patafi brothers’ businesses sealed
DERA GHAZI KHAN: The Darahma Police have registered a case against former provincial health adviser Hanif Patafi of the PTI, businessman, and former president of the DG Khan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Dr Muhammad Shafiq Patafi, based on complaints lodged by the departments of housing, agriculture, and district council. Consequently, their offices and warehouses have been sealed.
On Saturday, Senior Sub-Engineer Mohammad Aslam Tahir and field staff from the Housing Department, accompanied by the police, sealed the Suncrop head office on Khayaban Sarwar, citing outstanding commercialization fees for Plot No 19-18.
Another team, led by Assistant Director of Agriculture Extension Malik Muhammad Kaleem, along with the police, raided the Patafi Brothers’ warehouses adjacent to Multan Road at Mustafa Chowk. During the raid, samples of fertilizers and agricultural drugs were obtained, and a case was registered at the Darahma police station.
District Council Officer Khurshid Naseer, along with Sadar Assistant Commissioner Usman Ghani, and the map branch of the municipal corporation, carried out a raid on the offices of Suncrop Pesticides, Green Lett Pesticides, and Honda. It was discovered that the buildings were constructed without legal permission and the necessary fees were not paid.
Former MPA Patafi claimed that they had never delayed the payment of government dues. He also stated that their warehouses were constructed in 2000, while the district council act regarding commercial fees was passed in 2005.
Mr Patafi said that these actions are simply an act of revenge against them. He urged the PDM-led government to adopt a political stance and avoid personal vendettas.
