Bushra skips NAB appearance in Al-Qadir Trust case
ISLAMABAD: Bushra Bibi, the wife of PTI Chairman Imran Khan, on Tuesday skipped her appearance before the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in Al-Qadir Trust case, saying she could not travel from Lahore to the federal capital so frequently on short notices.
The anti-graft watchdog has already summoned Mr Khan in the same case on June 15. It is expected that both will appear before NAB on that day.
NAB has also decided to summon Bahria Town owner Malik Riaz, the main accused in the case, soon.
NAB sources told Dawn that Bushra Bibi sent a letter to the anti-graft watchdog, saying she could not appear on Tuesday as she had received the notice three days ago and that it has become difficult for her to travel to Islamabad on such a short notice.
On June 7, she had submitted her statement to NAB, expressing ignorance about any “wrongdoing” in the trust’s affairs and settlement between the UK’s National Crime Agency and the property tycoon, Mr Riaz. She also denied any malpractice in the affairs of the trust and donations.
