NTDC board reconstituted

ISLAMABAD: The government on Wednesday reconstituted the board of directors of National Transmission and Despatch Company Ltd (NTDC) by expanding the membership to 13 from 11 at present.

In a notification, the Power Division of the Ministry of Energy appointed seven independent directors to the NTDC board, instead of earlier five members. The new board, led by Khalid Ishaq Aulakh, comprised six other independent directors, namely Babar Iqbal, Naweed Sharif, Dr Naveed Arshad, Reham Ali Otho, Rehmat Ullah Baloch and Ayla Majid.

Among the five non-executive directors, the Power Division has excluded a representative from the Ministry of Finance as member and replaced with a member from the Planning Commission. The other non-executive members include two senior officers of Power Division and heads of PPIB and the CPPA, both sub-ordinate entities of the Power Division. The managing director of NTDC will remain as executive member on the board.
