Sarwar Khan shifted to Wah Cantt police station
TAXILA: Former aviation minister Ghulam Sarwar Khan, former MNA Mansoor Hayat Khan and ex-member of Punjab Assembly Ammar Siddique Khan were shifted to Wah Cantonment police station on Wednesday.
They were wanted in the case registered against them at Taxila police station in connection with May 9 violence. A case was registered against him at Taxila Police Station under section 7-A of the Anti-Terrorism Act and 109, 148, 149, 186 and 351 of Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).
According to the police sources, Ghulam Sarwar had managed to evade arrest for over a month. He was arrested in the early hours of Wednesday from his friend’s residence in Islamabad along with his son and nephew.
A police official told this reporter that he was wanted in a case registered at Taxila police station, but Sarwar Khan, his son and nephew will be kept in Wah Cantonment police station due to “security reasons”.
The official further said that the PTI leaders are to be presented before Anti-Terrorism Court in Rawalpindi on Thursday for obtaining their physical remand.
Unlike some other leaders, former minister Sarwar Khan has not so far announced his departure from the PTI or resigned from party position so far.
