Over 1,500 apprentices pass out from PAF Airmen Academy

KARACHI: Some 1,567 aero apprentices of the Pakistan Air Force, including trainees from Pakistan Navy and allied countries, completed their technical training and were part of the passing-out parade held at the PAF Airmen Academy in Korangi Creek on Friday.

Speaking on the occasion as the chief guest, Deputy Chief of the Air Staff (Engineering) Air Marshal Ahmad Hassan said: “The PAF is a highly professional organisation that is venerated as a combat efficient force and has always come up to the expectations of the nation during times of trial through its historic valour, operational preparedness and professional excellence.”

He said the PAF is equipped with state-of-the-art weaponry and has the full potential to defend the aerial boundaries of the motherland.

He emphasised that the current situation necessitated to keep the training and professionalism fully harmonised with the contemporary requirements for developing competent and professional airmen, who are fully capable of protecting the country’s modern defence assets.

The deputy air chief congratulated the graduating airmen and wished them a bright future and success in their upcoming professional assignments.

He also commended the academy’s instructional staff for their sincere endeavours and commitment to the cause of training.

Later, he awarded trophies to the distinction holders.

The Chief of the Air Staff Trophy for Overall Best Performance was awarded to Aircraftman Mohammed Yousaf, the Asghar Khan Trophy for Overall Best Performance in Aeronautics was clinched by Aircraftman Mohammed Yousaf whereas the Nur Khan Trophy for Best in Aero Avionics Technology was conferred upon Aircraftman Mohammed Ibrahim Suleman. The Air Officer Commanding Trophy for the Best Performance in General Service Training was awarded to Academy Sergeant Aircraftman Noman Karim whereas the trophy for best performance among the foreign trainees was lifted by Corporal MD Salim Ahmed of Bangladesh.
