Over 100 PTI activists held as court rejects bail

MALAKAND: Over 100 Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf leaders and workers were arrested when the Anti-Terrorism Court, Malakand, rejected their bail-before-arrest here on Monday.

The Malakand police arrested all the 102 leaders and activists from the premises of ATC and lodged them in different police stations. They were booked for the May 9 vandalism and torching Swat Motorway toll plaza and Chakdara Fort.

Prominent among those whose BBA was rejected included former MNA Mehboob Shah, former MPA Humayun Khan, Batkhela tehsil council chairman Nasir Ali, Baizai tehsil chairman Afzal Hussain and Adenzai tehsil chairman Feroze Shah.

The ATC also issued arrest warrants for former MNA Junaid Akbar for not appearing in the court.
