Drizzle lashes several areas

KARACHI: Several areas of the city received drizzle on Thursday evening as monsoon currents continued to penetrate into Sindh, the Met department said.

These areas included Airport’s old area, Jinnah Terminal, PAF Base Masroor, PAF Base Faisal, Met Office University Road, Gulshan-i-Maymar, Keamari and Quaidabad.

The department has forecast dust-thunderstorm/rain with isolated heavy falls in Tharparkar, Umerkot, Mirpurkhas, Sanghar, Khairpur, Suk­kur, Larkana, Jacobabad, Shikarpur, Qambar-Sha­hd­­adkot, Dadu, Jamshoro, Kandhkot-Kashmore, Ghotki, Naushahro Feroz, Shaheed Benazirabad, Matiari, Hyderabad, Tan­do Allahyar, Tando Moh­ammad Khan, Badin, Thatta and Sujawal districts and Karachi division till July 23-24 with occasional gaps.

“Wind/dust-storm may cause damage to loose structures (electric poles, solar panels, trees etc.) Farmers are advised to manage their activities keeping in view the forecast. General public is advised to remain watchful and take precautions,” the advisory stated.

In Karachi, the weather is likely to remain cloudy with chances of thunderstorm/rain during the next two days with maximum temperature ranging between 33 and 35 degrees Celsius, it adds.
