Bara Rifles commandant meets martyrs’ children
KHYBER: The commandant of Bara Rifles announced on Thursday one year free education for the children of two martyrs of the July 20 suicide attack on Bara tehsil compound.
According to a statement, the commandant of Bara Rifles, Col Zabeehullah Mehsud, met the children of Tayyab Afridi and Mohammad Anwar Afridi and gave them school bags and stationery alongside announcing one year free education for them.
He said on the occasion that both the martyred policemen were national heroes as they saved the lives of many of their colleagues and the official building from huge destruction while offering sacrifices of their lives.
He said that Frontier Corps would continue to extend its support and cooperation to the family members of the martyrs and would stand by them at times to come.
Meanwhile, police announced cancellation of the function of Youm-i-Shuhada at the police lines in Shah Kas, Jamrud, on August 4.
Though no official statement was issued from the police lines, officials privately said that the function was cancelled due to security concerns.
Police had been regularly holding Youm-i-Shuhada on August 4 for the last few years to remember the policemen, who laid down their lives while combating terrorism on different occasions in different parts of the district.
