21 tourists injured in Mansehra road accident
MANSEHRA: Twenty-one members of a family from Peshawar were injured when a wagon they were travelling in overturned on the Mansehra-Naran-Jalkhad Road in Sangar area of Balakot on Monday, rescue officials said.
They said the tourist family was on way to Kaghan valley from Peshawar when the driver lost control over the steering while negotiating a sharp turn, overturning the vehicle on the road.
Rescue 1122 officials said women and children were among those injured. They said the injured were shifted to the King Abdullah Teaching Hospital.
The rescuers said nine of the injured, including four women, were referred to Ayub Medical Complex, Abbottabad, where their condition was stated to be out of danger.
Meanwhile, a black bear attacked and injured a woman and many goats in Pumbah area of Balakot.
Locals said they had informed the wildlife department regarding the presence of beasts in their area, but they didn’t take notice.
In another incident, a wildcat killed many goats in Garlat area of Balakot.
