ATC extends judicial remand of Khadija, other activists
LAHORE: An anti-terrorism court has extended the judicial remand of PTI activists, including fashion designer Khadija Shah, Sanam Javed and Afshan Tariq, in the case for their alleged involvement in the Lahore corps commander house attack.
The suspects, all women, were presented before the court on Saturday when the investigating officer sought more time to file the complete challan against them.
Judge Ejaz Ahmad Buttar allowed the request and extended the suspects’ judicial remand till the next hearing on Aug 26.
The judge also sent a PTI social media activist, Ayesha Ali Bhutta, to jail for her identification parade. She has been charged with allegedly burning police vehicles during the May 9 protests in the Lahore cantonment area.
The judge directed the police to produce her again within 14 days. She was however granted a post-arrest bail in the Lahore corps commander house attack case.
Sarwar Road police had registered cases against suspects for attacking police and vandalising the corps commander’s house during the May 9 protests against Mr Khan’s arrest.
