CHITRAL: A man and a woman were killed and five others injured in two road accidents in Lower Chitral district here on Monday, the police said.

They said that in the first incident, a woman died when a jeep veered off the Booni Road in Mori Lasht area due to over-speeding.

They said that her minor daughter sustained serious injuries and was referred to a hospital in Peshawar.

In the second road accident, a jeep plunged into a ravine while negotiating a turn in Tingel village of Sheshi Koh valley, killing a man and injuring four others.

The deceased was identified as Kashif Ahmed, who died on the spot. The four injured persons were shifted to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, Drosh.
