Doctors, minors among four killed on road in Kohat

KOHAT: Two doctors and two minors were killed while 14 passengers including men and women were injured in a deadly accident between a car and a coach near Ghulam Banda on Rawalpindi Road here on Thursday.

Three of the injured stated to be in critical condition were referred to Peshawar by doctors of KDA Teaching Hospital, Kohat.

The coach was coming from Rawalpindi carrying passengers to Bannu, North Waziristan, and South Waziristan whereas the car was going to Peshawar.

All the victims who died in the accident were travelling in the car.

They were identified as Dr Tofail, his minor daughter Umme Habiba, Dr Younis and Barira. The injured persons in the car included Dr Naushen, Saafi, Usama and Hafsa.

The wounded in the coaster were identified as Qudratullah, Sheeba, Aleena, Shahab, Shaheen Bibi, Ismail, Shams Durrani, Abdul Masawwar, Aaqib and Naleen.

All the passengers in the coaster were admitted to the Kohat hospital.

Gumbat police have registered a case.

Meanwhile, a man killed his brother over a dispute on the boundary wall issue in Pehalwan Banda here on Thursday.

SHO city Fazal Mehmood said that his team took quick action after receiving the information and arrested the accused, Iftikhar, who had escaped after committing the murder.

In another incident, a couple on a motorcycle was killed by fire by unknown armed men in the Nadir Banda area of Lachi tehsil on Thursday.

Police said an FIR had been filed against unidentified killers.
