Iranian diesel, NCP goods seized in Dera
DERA ISMAIL KHAN: The police seized about 65,000 litres of Iranian diesel and non-custom paid goods worth millions of rupees during an operation, a police official said here on Sunday.
He said Mughal Kot and Darazinda police launched a joint operation against smugglers on the directives of district police officer Abdul Rauf Babar Qaiserani.
The official said the police stopped a tanker coming from Quetta at a checkpost, carrying about 65,000 litres of Iranian diesel. He said the tanker was impounded.
The official said non-custom paid foreign cigarettes, vehicles’ spare parts, laptop chargers, solar inverters, sprays, tyres, white papers, soaps, submersible pumps, injections, glass, dry milk, lotion and other items were also recovered from different vehicles during checking.
He said the accused were arrested, and all the seized goods were handed over to the customs authorities.
