LHC tribunal starts probe into IUB scandal
BAHAWALPUR: The tribunal of the Lahore High Court (LHC), headed by Justice Sardar Muhammad Sarfraz Dogar, began its probe into the Islamia University of Bahawalpur’s narcotic and harassment scandal on the Baghdadul Jadeed Campus of the university on Monday.
Dawn learnt that during Monday’s initial proceedings, the tribunal met a number of government officials, including IUB Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Naveed Akhtar, Regional Police Officer Rai Babar Saeed, Deputy Commissioner Zaheer Anwar Jappa and District Police Officer Syed Muhammad Abbas.
According to an official handout, the tribunal would probe the scandal and fix the responsibility to stop the recurrence of such incidents in the future.
