BHC accepts plea against cabinet inductions

QUETTA: The Balochistan High Court accepted a petition filed against the induction of some ministers and advisers into the interim cabinet for regular hearing, despite the petitioner’s intention to withdraw the application, on Wednesday.

The BHC bench, comprising Chief Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan and Justice Gul Hassan Kasi, while started the hearing on the petition filed against the appointment of three ministers and two advisers, the petitioner appeared before the court and submitted that he wanted to withdraw the petition that was filed on Aug 28.

The petitioner had raised concerns about the capabilities of three ministers, Jan Achakzai, Capt (retired) Zubair Jamali, and Qadir Bakhsh Baloch, as well as two advisers, Ms Shaina Khan and Danish Langove.

The petitioner contended that these ministers and advisers hold political affiliations with certain parties and have relationships with some people who could potentially influence elections.

The learned judges rejected the petitioner’s plea to withdraw the petition and directed the advocate general, Asif Reki, to present records of all the members who were inducted into the interim cabinet at the next hearing.
