BAJAUR: The district administration got the construction of a market stopped here the other day, insisting the owner – former minister and PTI provincial vice-president Anwar Zeb Khan – didn’t obtain the mandatory no-objection certificate for it.

The action was taken on the orders of deputy commissioner Mohammad Anwarul Haq, according to an official statement.

The market comprising 103 shops is under construction in Raghagan Bazaar.

The administration said the issuance of NOC by it and other departments was compulsory for putting up commercial buildings in the district.

It said it had also suspended unlawful boat service in Raghagan Dam.

The administration said boat operators failed to produce NOCs, boat fitness certificates and other necessary documents for the service.

It said the service would remain suspended until boat operators obtained fitness certificates from tehsil municipal administration and Rescue 1122.

The administration said it had also stopped workers of the Raghagan Bus Stand from collecting fees from transporters until their employer got a contract for it from the TMA.

It said TMA personnel would collect fees from transporters from today (Wednesday) and would take strict action against violators of its orders.

CHEQUES DISTRIBUTED: Bajaur deputy commissioner Anwarul Haq gave away Rs70,000 compensation cheques to the people injured in the July 30 suicide bombing of a JUI-F gathering here.

The cheque distribution ceremony was held in the DC’s office in Civil Colony, Khar, the other day.

The DC said cheques were provided by the provincial government and that more blast victims would be compensated after the completion of formalities.

He said compensation cheques had already been given away to the families of those, who lost life in the terrorist attack.

Special prayers were held in the ceremony for the speedy recovery of the injured as well as peace in the district.
