So until further news, fans of Depp may cross their fingers to have their favourite pirate back in the business.

Mortal Kombat 2, epic tournament in sight

Mortal Kombat 2 is in production, a follow-up to the 2021 reboot. The film’s release date is uncertain due to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike, but it’s expected around November 2024. Karl Urban will play Johnny Cage. The returning cast includes Lewis Tan as Cole Young, Jessica McNamee as Sonya Blade, Mehcad Brooks as Jax, Hiroyuki Sanada as Scorpion, Joe Taslim as Sub-Zero, and more.

The story is under wraps, but the film is likely to continue with a focus on the Mortal Kombat tournament. The ending of the first movie hinted at the tournament’s arrival, setting the stage for a battle that is lethal.

Snow White movie gets release date

Amid the ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, Disney has confirmed a release date for its live-action adaptation of Snow White, featuring Gal Gadot in the lead role.

The film draws inspiration from Disney’s beloved 1937 animated classic, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. The upcoming remake, written by Greta Gerwig (known for Barbie), casts Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen and Rachel Zegler (of Shazam 2 fame) as Snow White.

In a statement, Gadot expressed her excitement, stating that it’s an “amazing” opportunity and an honour “to play the first iconic villain.” Disney’s updated ‘upcoming theatrical releases’ schedule features Snow White with a confirmed release date of March 22, 2024.
