Wonder Craft : Paper gift box
Running short on time to find a suitable box for that special something you intend to gift, perhaps to a friend? Fret not, as I am here to provide a solution. Today, we’re going to create a simple and easy paper box that will lend your gift a distinctive and charming presentation. All you need is paper and your crafty hands!
So, let’s start:
Things you need
Coloured papers or patterned ones, 2
Glue stick
Scissors (optional)
Stickers or things for decoration (optional)
Directions
You will require two squares of identical sizes, (either small or large), based on the size of your gift.
Gently fold the paper into thirds, ensuring the creases are distinct and visible when unfolded. Next, unfold it and proceed to fold it into thirds from the opposite direction, resulting in a total of nine equally-sized square creases across the paper as shown in pictures 2 and 3.
Hold the paper by the square creases on the top right and left sides, then bring them together towards the top centre square. Paste glue onto the inner surfaces of the folds as shown in pictures 4, 5, and 6.
Follow the same technique of step 3 for the opposite side of the paper. When done, you will get a pretty cute box, as shown in picture 7.
Now, let’s create the lid for the box. Take another piece of paper with the same dimensions as the box. Fold the paper from its centre on all four sides, this will result in four equal triangles, see picture 8.
Fold the paper in upward direction from the bottom, but only go halfway to the middle where all the corners of the paper meet, picture 9.
Use the same method of folding halfway on the remaining three sides. Keep the creases crisp, as shown in pictures 10 and 11.
Place this folded paper diagonally, open up the top point while keeping the folded sides untouched. Hold it gently from the right and left sides, raising them just like we did when crafting the box. Join the upper right and left corners of the paper while keeping that corner lifted and unfolded. Then, fold the corner inward, as shown in pictures 12 and 13.
Repeat this step on the opposite side. Note that we have just raised the folds on the right and the left sides of the paper, and folded only the top and the bottom corners inwards, picture 14.
**This cute little box is all set with its lid. You can decorate it or just leave it as it is, because this tiny box is perfect on its own!*The writer can be contacted at ithecraftman@gmail.com*
