ATC refuses to extend Imaan’s physical remand

ISLAMABAD: The Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) of Islamabad on Friday rejected the request to extend physical remand of rights activist Imaan Mazari and also issued notice to the prosecution to argue on her post-arrest bail petition.

ATC Judge Abual Hasnat Zulqarnain will resume hearing on Imaan’s bail plea on Saturday (today).

Bhara Kahu police produced Imaan before the court in the case of fundraising for banned outfit and requested to extend her remand.

The court also ordered that Imaan Mazari be kept in Women Police Station till Saturday.

The case against her was registered under Section 11-N of the Anti-Terrorism Act, as well as sections 420 and 506 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).

Section 11-N of the ATA deals with punishment under sections 11-H to 11-K, which include charges of fund-raising, use and possession, funding arrangements and money laundering for the purpose of terrorism.

ATC earlier on Aug 29 handed over custody of Imaan to Bhara Kahu police for three days physical remand.
