THATTA, Feb 4: A six-member committee of revenue and estate department of the Thatta district has been assigned to survey, identify and demarcate 3,000 acres of state land in the Mirpur Sakro taluka for setting up an industrial zone on lines of Port Qasim.

The committee comprises DDO revenue Ismail Memon, three Mukhtiarkars, Tapedars and others.

DO revenue Qazi Jan Mohammad told this correspondent that assignment meant to prepare land plan for the land utilization department under government policy to lure foreign investment.

He said the industrial zone would generate employment and enhance economic activity in the district.
