PTI activist, passerby die in Swabi attack
SWABI: A social media activist of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf and a passerby were killed and another was injured when attackers opened fire on them near Kunda village here on Saturday, Rescue 1122 officials said.
They said that the activist, Kamran Khan, who was considered close to former National Assembly speaker Asad Qaiser, was going on a motorcycle along with his brother, Ijaz Ali, when their rival, Jawad Khan signalled them to stop and opened fire on them. As a result, Kamran died on the spot and Ijaz remained unhurt.
Two other men passing by the place at the time were also caught in the firing with one of them also having died on the spot and the other injured.
The deceased passerby was identified as Aqib Khan and the injured as Faraz Ahmed.
The bodies and the injured were taken to Bacha Khan Hospital Complex, Shahmansoor.
In another incident, rivals killed a man in Gar village over an old enmity on Saturday. The victim was identified as Amjid Ali.
