HYDERABAD: Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori has said that all political forces will have to put their heads together to find out a solution to the deepening crisis of economy confronting the country.

He had discussed issues of national interest with former premier and PML-N supremo Mian Nawaz Sharif in detail in his recent meeting with him in London, he said.

The governor was speaking to journalists after laying wreaths on the grave of Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai to mark concluding ceremony of the 280th urs celebrations of the Sufi saint in Bhitshah.

He said that former federal minister for finance Ishaq Dar was also present in the meeting. They discussed especially the present crisis in energy sector and explored its solutions, he said, adding no party could resolve the crisis single-handedly.

He emphasised the need for political dialogue between all political parties and said they would have to sit together sooner or later. “Steps that are over and above political approaches will have to be taken to ensure stability in the country,” he stated.

He said that he had cultivated personal relations with all leaders and he was ready to visit Asif Ali Zardari and Nawaz Sharif 10 times if he had to in order to find out solution to the country’s problems. “We should only focus on Pakistan’s stability and progress,” he said.

He said that joint efforts should be made to assist the Election Commission of Pakistan so that transparent elections could be held. The caretaker government would have to take serious steps to tackle price hike, he said.

He said that last year Sindh was badly hit by heavy rains and floods which compounded peoples’ problems and also forced the government to postpone the urs last year. Before that the celebrations were put on hold for two years because of corona pandemic, he said, a large number of people had turned up in Bhitshah this year.

The governor said that Sindh was a land of mystics and paid tributes to Bhitai for his universal message of peace and harmony. He had prayed for progress, integrity and stability of the country, he said.

He said the society was facing multi-faceted crisis because it did not follow message of Sufis. If their message had been followed they would not have faced the problems, he said, adding that Pakistan was facing multiple crisis because the path of Sufis had been abandoned.

He heard ragis of Bhitai reciting Sufi poetry and distributed clothes among destitute women. Sindh culture minister Syed Junaid Shah, secretary Aaqaf Munawar Mahesar, secretary culture Abdul Aleem Lashari and Hyderabad DIG Pir Mohammad Shah accompanied the governor on his visit.
