Khuhro reiterates party demand for polls in 90 days
THATTA: Pakistan Peoples Party Sindh president Nisar Ahmed Khurro has reiterated the party’s demand for holding general elections within 90 days as stipulated in the Constitution.
Khuhro said at a workers’ meeting at the residence of Sadiq Memon, a seasoned party leader, on Sunday that only a democratic government could resolve the country’s issues.
He shared his party’s strategy for the upcoming general elections and said that under the dynamic leadership of Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari they had launched election campaign in which they would mobilise senior workers to ensure landslide victory across the province.
He asked the workers to be ready for another remarkable victory in elections like local body elections but feared that Election Commission of Pakistan was planning to delay the polls. The delay would sabotage the democratic process in the country, he feared.
Lashing out at Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf and its chief Khuhro said that they never believed in provincial autonomy and were strong supporters of centralisation of powers. Their negative approach led to their political downfall, he claimed.
