Another 22 dengue patients land in hospitals

RAWALPINDI: As many as 22 more dengue patients landed in three government-run hospitals, taking the season’s tally to 339.

The district administration has asked the health authority to speed up the anti-dengue drive.

District administration officials said that there was dire need to create awareness among the people about the safety measures to avoid further spread of the disease.

Currently, there are 38 confirmed dengue patients under treatment in Rawalpindi hospitals and six of them are in critical condition.

Total 15 confirmed dengue patients are in Holy Family Hospital (HFH), four in Benazir Bhutto Hospital (BBH), 14 are in District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital, two in Razi hospital and one each in three different private hospitals. Mostly dengue patients arrived from Dhoke Munshee, Chaklala, Kotha Kalan, Girja, chountra, Chahan, Khurram colony, Dhoke Dalal and Thatha Khalil.

The officials said the health department teams were carrying out indoor and outdoor operations on a daily basis. On Friday, more than 11,491 houses checked in Rawalpindi and dengue larvae was found in 651 houses. Similarly, more than 4,259 outdoor spots were checked in hotspots and dengue larvae was found in 109 spots.
