PAL to hold conference focusing on children’s folk literature

ISLAMABAD: A two-day conference on children’s folk literature in Pakistani languages under the auspices of the Pakistan Academy of Letters (PAL) titled “Hum Jugno Tare Dharti Ke” will start on Tuesday (today).

The conference aims to highlight the importance of children’s folk literature in Pakistani languages.

According to a statement, a large number of children from schools and colleges will participate in the conference, along with writers on children’s folk literature in Pakistani languages.

The inaugural session of the conference will be held on September 19th at 9:30 am, at PAL, situated at Pitras Bukhari Road, Sector H-8/1, Islamabad. The conference will continue for two days with different sessions.

Apart from the inaugural session, there will be six sessions on the day, which will be held from 12:00 noon to 6:00 pm. On the second day (Wednesday), there will be four sessions from 9:00 am to 11:00 am.

Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Murtaza Solangi and Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training Maddad Ali Sindhi will be the special guests.

Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture Division Syed Jamal Shah will be the guest of honour. Kishwar Naheed will deliver the keynote address. Dr. Najiba Arif, Chairperson PAL, will deliver the welcome address. The proceedings will be conducted by Shazia Akbar.
