Four persons shot, wounded by robbers

KARACHI: Four persons were shot and wounded over resistance during robbery attempts in different incidents in the city on Thursday.

A 35-year-old man was shot and hurt by robbers on main University Road near Aziz Bhatti Park.

Aziz Bhatti police SHO Rao Rafiq said the armed men tried to snatch a motorbike from a citizen, Saifullah. As he put up resistance, the robbers shot him and fled without any loot. The injured man was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraudate Medical Centre.

In another incident, a 40-year-old man, Kamran Ghaffar, was shot and injured during a robbery attempt near Memon Haven Society off Superhighway.

SITE Superhighway Industrial Area SHO Mumtaz Marwat said the wounded man did not want any legal proceedings.

A 20-year-old man, Razzak Alam, was shot and injured during a robbery near New Sabzi Mandi. He was shifted to the JPMC for treatment.

The Maymar police said he was shot as he did not stop his motorbike when signaled by suspected robbers.

Abdul Rehman, 45, was shot and injured while resisting a robbery on Northern Bypass. The police said he was shot when he did not stop his car near Hindu Goth. The injured man was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for treatment.
