Girls outshine boys in Abbottabad board’s HSSC exam result

ABBOTTABAD: Girl students clinched the top three positions in the annual results of the higher secondary school certificate examinations declared by the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Abbottabad, here on Wednesday.

The result was announced by controller of examinations Prof Babar Ayaz at a function held at the board’s auditorium. He said total 39,625 candidates appeared in the exams, out of which 24,832 were declared successful with 63.66 per cent pass percentage.

The first position was clinched by Amna Kashif of Peace Group of Schools and Colleges, Mansehra, getting 1,038 marks. The second position was jointly shared by Amen Murtaza and Mahroosh Tanveer of Tameer-i-Watan Public School & College, Abbottabad. They both got 1,034 marks each.

The third position was bagged by Wajiha Fiyaz, a student of Tameer-i-Watan Public School & College, Abbottabad, who secured 1,032 marks.

In pre-engineering group, students of Tameer-i-Watan Public School & College, Abbottabad, snatched the top two positions.

The first position was clinched by Umme Habiba Malik, who secured 1,031 marks. The second position was also bagged by Maryam Fatima of the same college, securing 1,021 marks. The third position was jointly shared by Mohazama of Tameer-i-Watan Public School & College, Abbottabad, and Maryam Fareed of Dawn Public School & College, Haripur, by securing 1,011 marks each.

In computer/general science group, the first position was bagged by Syed Abdul Ahad of Tameer-i-Watan Public School & College, Abbottabad, getting 1,005 Marks. The second position was jointly shared by Amber Bibi of Al-Quran Beacon Public School & College, Mansehra, and Umair Jawad Khawaja of Pakistan International Public School & College, Abbottabad, securing 988 marks each. The third position was bagged by Noorul Ain of Tameer-i-Watan Public School & College, Abbottabad, with 985 marks.
