Jinnah College student tops Peshawar board inter exam

PESHAWAR: A student of Jinnah College for Women, University of Peshawar, topped the annual intermediate examinations as results were declared on Tuesday by Peshawar Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education.

Kaneez Khudaija Ahmed, a student of pre-medical group of Jinnah College for Women, got first position by securing 1,064 marks out of the total 1,100. Khadija Azmat Khan, a student of Forward Girls College Hayatabad Peshawar, got 1,060 marks and stood second in the overall results of the intermediate examinations.

Mohammad Hassanat Khan, a student of Islamia College Peshawar, got third position by securing 1,057 marks. All the top three position holders belong to pre-medical group.

The pre-engineering group was topped by Mohammad Amjad, a student of Islamia College Peshawar, by getting 1,032 marks followed by Maaz Bin Aamir, a student of Hadaf College for Boys Ring Road Achini Chowk Peshawar, with 1,031 marks.

Beenish Guluna, a student of Peshawar Model Degree College (Women) Dalazak Road, Peshawar, stood third position in the list of position holders with 1,028 marks.

The students of Jinnah College for Women also grabbed the top three positions in the humanities group. Anum Arif stood first with 1,011 marks.

Abna Yaqub and Tayyaba Ikram shared the second position with 989 marks each. Manahil Farooq got third position by securing 987 marks.

A total of 58,661 candidates appeared in the Part-II of intermediate examinations and 53,055 of them were declared successful. The passing percentage remained 90.4, according to the result gazette.

The results were declared at a ceremony held on the premises of BISE Peshawar. The caretaker minister for education, Prof Qasim Jan, the chairman of the board, Prof Nasrullah Yousafzai, and senior officials of education department and board attended the ceremony.
