54 dengue cases surface in Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI:As many as 54 patients went down with dengue in different parts of the garrison city on Thursday while six of them were in critical condition.

A total of 1,421 people are affected with dengue virus this season while no death has been reported so far. As many as 1,311 people have recovered from the disease.

Currently, 165 patients are being treated in Rawalpindi hospitals and 110 of them were confirmed dengue patients while the dengue serology report of 55 patients is still awaited.

A total of 81 patients are in Holy Family Hospital , 46 in Benazir Bhutto Hospital , 31 are in District Headquarters Hospital, seven are in Tehsil Headquarters Hospitals of Taxila, Wah and Kallar Syedan.

During the season, 144 patients arrived from Dhoke Munshee, 94 from Kotha Kalan, 28 from Tench Bhatta, 27 from Rehmatabad, 22 from Chaklala, 15 from Shakrial North, 12 from Gangal, 13 from Girja while more than five patients, each arrived from 46 union councils of city areas.

The officials said that the health department teams were continuing indoor and outdoor operations.

On Thursday, more than 15,863 houses were checked in Rawalpindi anddengueLarvae was found in 782 houses.

Similarly, more than 4,367 outdoor spots were checked anddengueLarvae was spotted in 55 places.
