Four of family killed in Mansehra bus-car collision
MANSEHRA: Four members of a family, including a woman, were killed when a speeding bus collided head-on with a car near the Hazara University here on Monday.
“The car, which was on way to Chakasar area of Shangla from Peshawar, was hit by a speeding bus coming from the opposite side on the Hazara Expressway, leaving four persons onboard the car critically injured,” Sami Khan, an official of Rescue 1122, told reporters.
He said the rescuers shifted the injured to the King Abdullah Teaching Hospital, where doctors pronounced them as brought dead. They were identified as Sajid Ali, Afsar Deen, Umar Sadiq and a woman.
The police dispatched the bodies to Chakasar area after completion of the medico-legal formalities.
The bus driver managed to escape from the scene after the accident.
The police started making efforts to arrest the bus driver after lodging an FIR against him.
Meanwhile, a man allegedly killed his wife with the help of his brother.
The incident occurred in Darmali area of Oghi, the police said, adding Mohammad Shabbir and his brother, Mohammad Manzoor killed the woman.
They said the man was annoyed over the birth of his second daughter and used to torture his wife. The police after lodging an FIR started efforts to arrest the accused.
In another incident occurred in Pakhwal area here, Mohammad Irfan allegedly shot dead a trader, Mohammad Naseer.
The body was shifted to the King Abdullah Teaching Hospital for postmortem.
The police lodged an FIR and started making raids to arrest the accused.
