Return of Nawaz not outcome of a deal: Tarar
TAXILA: Senior PML-N leader Ataullah Tarar on Thursday set aside the perception that the return of party supremo Nawaz Sharif was the outcome of any deal with the establishment.
Talking to newsmen at Kohistan Secretariat here, he clarified that there were no changes or cancellation of Mr Sharif’s return to Pakistan and all the speculations in this regard were misleading.
Mr Tarar said on October 21 Mr Sharif would make a triumphant return, adding the party supremo had devised a comprehensive agenda to resolve issues plaguing the country. Responding a question about the general elections, the PML-N leader said, “the elections will be held in January.
“The nation will announce its decision regarding choosing the government in January.’’
Earlier addressing a workers convention, Mr Tarar claimed that the era of real development would begin soon as the PML-N was going to form the next government to get rid of the masses from inflation, price hike and unemployment.
He said in the past, the PML-N had rendered unprecedented sacrifices for the integrity and prosperity of the country, and implemented mega development projects.
Former Punjab Assembly member Umer Farooq and former candidate for National Assembly Barrister Aqeel Malik also addressed the event.
The convention was part of the PML-N strategy to drum up support of the party workers and build momentum for a grand showdown on October 21.
