PTI demo for Palestinians ‘not allowed’ in Lahore

LAHORE: The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf has condemned the incumbent government and civil administration for not allowing its workers to even protest and express solidarity with the Palestinians.

A police contingent arrested a protester, carrying PTI flag, from outside the Lahore Press Club – for expressing solidarity with the Palestinians.

A PTI spokesperson claims a woman protester was also arrested.

The PTI says the deputy commissioner did not allow holding of a public meeting at the Liberty Roundabout on Sunday (tomorrow).

The PTI spokesman says other political parties are holding public meetings and other events in the run-up to general elections. He says the PTI was the most vocal voice for the support of the Palestinians but it was being pushed away and not allowed to raise voice for them.

The spokesman demanded that the Election Commission of Pakistan to allow all political parties to campaign in line with the constitutional provisions.
