Light rain adds chill to air
RAWALPINDI: The twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad on Saturday morning received light rain that added chill to the air.
Health authorities expressed the hope that the dengue virus will be eliminated by the end ofOctoberas it would be difficult for the mosquito to survive in a low temperature.
The Met Office recorded two millimetres of rainat Zero Point and one mm at the airport, Golra and Bokra in Islamabad, two mm in Chaklala and Kutchery, one mm at Shamsabad in Rawalpindi and two mm in Murree.
The temperature in Islamabad decreased to 19 degrees Celsius, and 20 degrees in Rawalpindi and 10 degrees in Murree.
The Met Official said snow over mountains and rains accompanied with gusty winds with occasional gaps were expected in upper parts of the country, including Rawalpindi and Islamabad till October 17. It said moderate to heavy falls may increase water flows in local nullahs/streams and trigger landslides in vulnerable areas of Murree, Galliyat, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Shangla, Buner, Mansehra and Abbottabad.
