Govt urged to cut auto sector taxes
KARACHI: The Pakistan Association of Automotive Parts & Accessories Manufacturers (Paapam) has urged the government to cut taxes on locally assembled cars to boost their sales.
Inaugurating the three-day Pakistan Auto Show at the Expo Centre on Friday, Paapam chairman Abdul Rehman Aizaz said the government was treating the auto industry as a cash cow by burdening every locally produced car with taxes ranging between 37 and 43 per cent, which is hampering the growth of the auto industry.
