Hazara power company to create over 10,000 jobs for locals
MANSEHRA: Chairman of the Peshawar Electric Supply Company Workers Union in Hazara division Jamil Akhtar Tanoli on Wednesday said the creation of the Hazara Electric Supply Company would address issues of loadshedding, low voltage and inflated bills in the region.
“The Hazesco, which is the 11th electric supply company in the country after registration with the Security and Exchange Commission of Pakistan, will hopefully address core issues facing Hazara division,” Mr Tanoli told a reception hosted by the workers’ union here to welcome the Hazeco establishment.
The union leader said as the Peshawar High Court vacated the stay order against the Hazesco establishment, the Security and Exchange Commission of Pakistan registered it under Section 16 of the Companies Act, 2017.
“We expect over 10,000 jobs in this electric company for locals,” he said.
Mr Tanoli said far-off villages and localities in Hazara Division were without electricity, so the Hazesco would hopefully address that and other issues on a priority basis.
FACTORY SEALED: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Food Authority on Wednesday sealed a factory for making pickles from hazardous ingredients.
A raid was conducted on the factory in Gandia area by the authority’s team led by assistant director Dr Mukhtar Ahmad on a tip-off.
It seized pickle bottles, decomposed mangoes, and oil made of offal.
The official said the factory, which operated secretly, supplied pickles to hotels and shops across Hazara Division.
He said the authority had launched a crackdown on factories, eateries and bakers supplying or making foods and drinks with unhygienic ingredients in Gandia, Baffa Doraha, Thakra and adjoining areas.
“We have also fined many hotels, eateries, bakeries, and poultry, kebab and milk shops over lack of cleanliness,” he said.
