Lahore Lahore Aye theatre performances to resume tomorrow
LAHORE: The activities of Lahore Lahore Aye festival organised at Alhamra that were postponed due to smart lockdown after thick smog have resumed and five remaining theatre performances will take place from Nov 15, officials told Dawn.
On 15th Nov, the play Roshnaee by the Natak Performing Art will be staged, followed by Choo Mantar by Patan Lok Natak the next day. On Nov 17, drama Hasil-i-Ishq by Nautanki Theatre will be staged while Nov 18, Keeh Jana Mein Kaun will be performed. On the final day of the festival on Nov 19, Ajoka will perform its famous play Bullah.
The festival was disrupted by the smart lockdown as the government suspended all activities in the wake of the smog issue.
On the sidelines of Lahore Lahore Aye activities at Alhamra, literary talks also got postponed. Lahore Arts Council Assistant Director Admin Khurram Naveel told Dawn that efforts were being made to reorganise the literary talks and the matter would be finalised within a day or two.
Meanwhile, the Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) also decided to extend the duration of the Lahore Lahore Aey festival at the Racecourse Park till Nov 19, following the directive of caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi.
According to a spokesperson, the last date for the festival was Nov 12. However, considering the significant public interest in the event, the PHA decided to extend the event’s duration by a week. The festival at the park features various attractions, including food stalls, costumes and handicrafts, to provide the visitors with a diverse cultural experience.
