HYDERABAD: District govt plans flats for employees

HYDERABAD, Feb 16: The district government has decided to build flats for public servants to provide them better residential facilities, according to District Nazim Kanwar Naveed Jamil.

He was inaugurating the repair of road from the Bhittai Hospital chowk to the Comprehensive High School in Latifabad on Wednesday evening.

The nazim said four flats would be constructed for EDOs at a cost of Rs10 million, eight for DOs at a cost of Rs15 million, 16 for DDOs at a cost of Rs19.2 million and 32 flats for non-gazetted officers at a cost of Rs30.2 million.

District Naib Nazim Zaffar Rajput, Latifabad taluka Nazim Sabir Hussain, EDO works and services Haleem Ghouri, Latifabad UC-5 Nazim Ahsan Mohammad, UC-6 Nazim Rehman Akhtar, UC-4 Naib Nazim Khalid Hussain, Latifabad taluka Naib Nazim Shujahuddin Shaikh were present on the occasion.

Nazims and councillors of Latifabad union councils, EDOs and a large number of citizens attended the ceremony.

The nazim said the district government started working on the master plan of development of Hyderabad and the road would be completed at a cost of Rs20 million.

The nazim said the plan was prepared to revive old glory of Hyderabad by providing all basic facilities to people.

He said priority was being given to sewerage system under the development programme.

Mr Jamil said Rs15 million would be utilized for improvement of various streets of Latifabad.

He alleged that thousands of families in the city were deprived by previous governments of safe drinking water.

The nazim said the government planned to improve the health sector by constructing more hospitals.

He said that boys’ college, computer centre and library were in pipeline at Latifabad.

Mr Jamil said that feasibility report for two recreational projects of Safari Park and water park was being prepared.

He said a scheme for beautification of the city was also being implemented.

ARMY SELECTION: The army selection and recruitment centre here on Wednesday announced recruitment schedule.

The mobile recruitment team of the army would be available at the Jhuddo town committee on February 20, at Sanghar Highway rest house on February 23, at Nawabshah municipal committee on February 24 and at Mithi town committee on February 27.

Candidates were advised to bring their original school leaving certificate, pacca certificate, matric or intermediate mark-sheet, domicile or PRC, photocopy of NIC or form-B, two passport size photographs and photocopy of father’s NIC.

MUET: Brigadier (rtd) Mukhtiar Ahmed, vice chancellor of the Balochistan University of Engineering and Technology in Khuzdar, called on Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan Rajput, vice chancellor of the Mehran University of Engineering and Technology in Jamshoro, in his office here on Wednesday and discussed matters of mutual interest.

They also discussed the issue of short-term teachers exchange programme in the country.

Dr Mohammad Ibrahim Pathan, dean of engineering, Dr Mohammad Rafique Abro, dean of faculty of electrical, electronics and computer engineering, Dr Mohammad Ramzan Sabayo, dean of technology, Dr Dost Ali Khawaja, dean of architecture and planning, Dr Mohammad Aslam Uqaili (registrar) and engineer Munir A. Shaikh (director finance) were also present on the occasion.
