KOHAT: The Saddar and Jarma police on Tuesday arrested three drug smugglers and seized seven kilogrammes of hashish from them during search operations on Tuesday.
A statement issued here said that Saddar police SHO Shah Doran along with a team recovered five kilogrammes of hashish from Hafeez and Abid.
A case was registered against them under the Control of Narcotics Substance Act, 1997.
Similarly, a Jarma police team led by SHO Fazal Mohammad foiled an attempt to smuggle two kilogrammes of hashish by arresting an accused.
Meanwhile, a delegation of Kohat Chamber of Commerce has demanded of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Haji Ghulam Ali to request the federal government to extend the repatriation of undocumented Afghan refugees as they owed them billions of rupees.
The delegation made the demand during a meeting with the governor on Tuesday.
Ghulam Ali said the government was only sending back undocumented refugees with respect and honour, and if they had businesses here they could return on a valid visa. He said those living legally had no trouble at all.
The governor said the government was working to put the country on the right path and improve the economy.
