‘Where should we flee to?’, ask Gazans forced to move south

Palestinian journalist Hind Khoudary says civilians in southern Gaza feel angry, frustrated and scared as the Israeli army called on them to evacuate further south towards Rafah, Al Jazeera reports.

Hospitals, UN-run facilities, schools and houses are packed as more than one million people have moved to southern areas since the war started, she said while reporting from inside the Gaza Strip.

Khoudary added that civilians can’t move back to the north where ground battles and air strikes are continuing, but they are also fearful to move to Rafah which has been hit, too.

“‘Where should we flee to?’ is the question they have been asking. There is also a high degree of frustration after the Israeli army published a map separating the strip into numbered zones. People don’t know how to deal with it as they don’t have electricity and have no internet,” Khoudary added.
