Four illegal housing schemes in Rawalpindi issued notices

RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) on Sunday issued notices to the owners of four illegal housing schemes.

RDA spokesman Hafiz Irfan said sponsors had also been warned to immediately stop marketing of illegal housing schemes. He said on the directions of RDA Director General Saif Anwar Jappa, notices were issued to the owners of the four illegal private housing schemes namely High Life City, project of SSJ Marketing and Property Adviser at Mouza Niko, Wah Hills at Mouza Ghari Afghana in Taxila and Amman Scheme at Mouza Rajar on Chakri Road.

He said directions had been issued to the RDA branch concerned to take action against illegal advertisements and marketing file first information report (FIRs) against the owners of the illegal housing schemes.

Moreover, he said, the illegal housing schemes were also warned to stop marketing of their unapproved/illegal housing schemes and contact the RDA for getting NOC/approval otherwise strict legal action will be taken against them.

He said public was advised to avoid making any kind of investment in illegal and unauthorised housing schemes.

He said the owners and sponsors of illegal housing schemes were misleading the public through advertisements. In this regard, the Planning Wing has requested the Cyber Crime Wing of the FIA to take legal action against the misleading advertisements of the illegal housing schemes to prevent the public from falling in their scams.

He said the above-mentioned offences committed by the owners of illegal housing schemes were also cognizable under rule 37 of Punjab Development Authorities Private Housing Schemes Rules 2021.
