Villagers capture Indian nilgai

KASUR: Residents captured a nilgai that entered Pakistan from India on Sunday at bordering village Talvandi in the limits of Kanganpur police station of Chunian tehsil.

On Sunday morning, villagers spotted a nilgai in the residential area of the village. Villagers seized the wild animal after the male nilgai gave them a tough time of about two hours.

A large number of people including from the neighbouring villages gathered to see the wild cow.

Later, wildlife department reached the spot and took custody of the animal. According to Wildlife Assistant Director Nazir Ahmed, the Nilgai had mistakenly crossed the border in the darkness of night. He said the animal had been shifted to Changa Manga Safari Zoo.
