NAWABSHAH: A two-day ‘horse and cattle show’ was inaugurated here on Thursday.

Shaheed Benazirabad Commissioner Syed Mohammad Sajjad Haider told journalists after opening show that the event would create awareness among cattle breeders and farmers about the livestock.

He said the show would also provide specific information to public in large and facilitate small traders.

A number of cattle breeders had set up their stalls where different breeds of goats, buffaloes, cows, camels and horses attracted visitors’ attention. Races among horses and camel were also organised in the show.

Many governmental and non-governmental organisations had also set up stalls of veterinary feed and medicine where officials of livestock and fisheries departments provided specific information and guidelines to visitors regarding the animals’ habitat and feed.

Shaheed Benazirabad’s deputy commissioner Zahid Hussain Rind, director of Planning and Monitoring Livestocks Hyderabad Dr Ali Akhtar Shahani and others also attended the event.
