Revved-up rival’s race to generosity

This is regarding the story “Revved-up rival’s race to generosity” by Mohammad Usman Khan (YW, November 11). It was a brilliant story, different from the usual ones in the magazine.

As an avid admirer of formula and sports cars, I loved the story because it matched my passion. While reading, I almost felt like I was witnessing the race myself. The way the writer portrayed himself and his love for cars was amazing. I encourage the writer to write more stories about cars and races as there are many kids like me who would love to read more about modern cars and their mechanisms.

Car racing is not everyone’s passion or interest. Very few people like it and even fewer express their interest in it. This is where I would applaud Mohammad Usman Khan for writing the story “Revved-up rival’s race to generosity,” in such an amazing way that it felt like I was watching the race myself.

I liked the story very much and would request the writer come up with more amazing stories such as this one.

Stop cutting trees

Trees are an important part of the ecosystem. They are instrumental and beneficial for our lives, as they absorb carbon dioxide and provide us with oxygen.

They are essential for us to breathe. However, we often witness trees being cut down for various reasons, such as making paper, furniture, cardboard, medicines, etc. Nevertheless, it is important to analyse the use of these products before purchasing them.

Tree cutting or trimming is a common practice on the sides and green patches beside the roads and in streets, but if we continue to cut trees in our surroundings, we jeopardise our source of pure oxygen.

Trees are homes to birds and insects. Cutting down trees and destroying their habitats would lead them to seek shelter elsewhere. We should refrain from cutting down trees to make our planet a better place and encourage each other to plant one tree at least.

The spirit of giving

This is with reference to the story “The spirit of giving” by Gulwash Ijaz (YW, November 4). The story taught a great lesson to its readers to help the poor and orphans, because God has given us a lot and we are meant to be their support.

The key is to do it without expecting anything in return and God appreciates those who give with joy.
