Man, four sons gunned down in Dera Ismail Khan

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: A man and his four sons, who were accused of involvement in the Sharifa Bibi assault and stripping case of 2017, were gunned down in Garrah-Matt area of Prova tehsil here on Monday, the police said.

A police official said Sajawal and his sons, Inayatullah, Naimatullah, Kifayatullah and Aslam, were travelling on motorcycles when unknown assailants sprayed them with bullets, killing them on the spot.

The attackers fled the scene.

The deceased were nominated in the FIR of Sharifa Bibi case, who was allegedly assaulted, stripped and paraded naked in the streets of her village in 2017.

Sajawal, the main accused in the case, remained in the hiding for a long time.

The police shifted the bodies to hospital for medico-legal formalities.

Meanwhile, a teenage driver of loader rickshaw died after his three-wheeler collided with a truck on Dera-Bhakkar Road in the limits of Gomal University police station on Monday.

A police official said Asmatullah, 61, of Malana area reported to the police that his 16-year-old son, Mudassir was coming from Dajal area on a rickshaw when a truck hit the three-wheeler. As a result, he died on the spot.

The police registered a case and started investigation.
