LONDON: The 36-year-old brother-in-law of Scotland’s First Minister Humza Yousaf was arrested for a second time in one week, it emerged on Tuesday.

Ramsay El-Nakla, the younger brother of the First Minister’s wife and Scottish National Party councillor Nadia, was first arrested on Thursday.

He appeared on petition at Dundee Sheriff Court on Monday charged with drug offences including supplying heroin, along with Stephen Stewart, 50, and Victoria McGowan, 41.

They were further charged with being in possession of cocaine and cannabis. All three made no plea and will appear in court again at a later date.

On Monday, after he secured bail in the drugs case, Mr El-Nakla was once again arrested at the same court over a window fall incident. A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Two men, aged 50 and 36, and a 41-year-old woman were arrested on Monday, 15 January, in connection with an incident on Morgan Street, Dundee, on Wednesday, 10 January.

“Around 8.20am on 10 January, officers received a report that a man had fallen from a flat. The 36-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries. “Inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”

Ramsay El-Nakla, the sibling of Yousaf’s partner, SNP councillor Nadia El-Nakla, had first been arrested in connection to drugs charges last Thursday.

Asked about the case on Monday, First Minister Yousaf told the PA news agency: “Well I can’t comment because it is a live court case. It is due to call today.
