South African victory
THE ruling of the International Court of Justice (ICJ), even if with its limitations, is a resounding victory for South Africa, which had dragged Zionist Israel down to the global platform. Also, the ICJ verdict is an indictment of the Muslim world, which stood by silently.
It is a matter of utter shame that no Muslim country could demonstrate even a fraction of the commitment and energy that was put on display by South Africa.
With over 25,000 lives already lost, Israel is continuing its unprecedented bombardment of the besieged territory, forcing mass starvation. Palestine is confronting its most grim humanitarian crisis. And, yet, the Muslims of the world — at least their governments — are trying their best to pretend as if nothing much is happening. Even the rhetoric this time is, at best, lame. What a pity.
