RDA lodges FIRs against owners of three illegal housing schemes
RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has lodged first information reports (FIRs) against the owners of three illegal housing schemes.
The RDA spokesman stated that these illegal housing schemes were Imperial City, the National Gold Enclave on Chakwal Road, and Kashmir Green City on G.T. Road Mandra.
He noted that the RDA is taking legal action against the illegal advertisements or marketing of illegal housing schemes, adding that before lodging FIRs, the authority had issued notices to these three illegal societies.
The spokesman said that the RDA has warned all illegal societies’ owners that without getting the requisite NOC from the RDA for the launch of housing schemes, apartment projects, commercial buildings, etc. within the controlled area of the RDA, all sorts of advertisement, marketing, and development of such projects through advertisement agencies, private limited companies, civil proprietorship, etc. are illegal.
He appealed to the public that they should not make any investment in these unapproved housing schemes.
Moreover, the sponsors are also warned to stop the marketing of their unapproved or illegal housing scheme and should contact the RDA to get an NOC or approval for the scheme as per law; otherwise, strict legal action will be taken against them.
The spokesman added that the RDA has sent letters with requests and information to the Governor State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Rawalpindi, the Federal Investigation Agency Cyber Crime Islamabad, the Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF) Islamabad, Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited (SNGPL) Islamabad, the District Collector Rawalpindi, the District Council Rawalpindi, the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority(Pemra) and the commissioner about illegal advertisements of private housing schemes on social media, WhatsApp, YouTube, and other apps of internet facilities.
