Man arrested for online harassment

TOBA TEK SINGH: The cybercrime wing of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Faisalabad, arrested a man involved in online sexual harassment and blackmail of a woman on Saturday.

A spokesperson for the FIA said the suspect, Usama Suhail, had sent his nude pictures and videos to the complainant, harassed her and attempted to blackmail her.

The FIA registered a case against him on Jan 31. The agency arrested him and confiscated his mobile phone.

DIAMONDS: The National Highway and Motorway Police (NHMP) returned two diamond rings worth Rs1 million to their owner.

A police spokesperson said Dr Sumaira, an American national, was traveling on M-3 from Lahore to Dera Ghazi Khan when she forgot her rings at Jaranwala service area near Faisalabad.

When she informed the police through the emergency helpline, the police searched for the rings and found them. Later, they were handed over to her by DSP Hameedullah.

BOOKED: Twenty-seven cases were registered against various people for violation of the code of conduct of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) while 360 cases were registered against people on charge of having illicit arms during the last two weeks.

Faisalabad CPO retired Capt Muhammad Ali Zia claimed the ECP code of conduct was being strictly implemented at the polling stations in Faisalabad and prompt action was being taken against those exhibiting weapons during the election campaigns.
